Night of the Living Dead 

A 1968 American independent horror film directed by George A. Romero. The story revolves around seven people trapped in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania, besieged by reanimated corpses. The film’s explicit violence and gore were groundbreaking at the time, leading to controversy and negative reviews. However, it eventually gained a cult following and critical acclaim. Notably, the casting of Duane Jones, an African-American actor, in the leading role has been a subject of scholarly analysis, reflecting social and cultural changes in the United States during the 1960s.
